Through an iterative process of making, I create stable representations of memory images. Spurred by playful impulse and melancholic self-reflection, my drawing practice examines the relationship between memory, imagination, and the visual information I absorbed as a child. What results are representational drawings, utilizing the shorthand of abstraction, to approach something that I cannot verbalize. Making these drawings harkens back to an unknown or too-distant childhood, as I work toward a more whole identity.
