Title
A Solo Exhibition of Works by Vincent Hron

Artist Statement
In my work, I endeavor to reveal the potential meanings latent in ordinary experiences through rigorous analysis of form. Varied historical traditions are brought together in a contemporary context to engage and question cultural assumptions about aesthetics, spirituality, and social responsibility. I am drawn to the practice of social critique that was integral to the history of the Realist in art, and, since the purpose of critique is persuasion, I have tried to make work that will engage varied audiences on multiple levels. Consequently, I borrow freely from varied traditions making use of that which tends to attract and captivate folks like an imaginatively inhabitable space, rich harmonious color, dynamic rhythm, and the like while at the same time developing images that might enable one to metaphorically reflect on the complexity of our world.
